I was a councillor for 18 years, which I enjoyed very much, it was very demanding, I retired from council work 4 years ago.

Whilst being on the council I was involved working with internet web publishing companies, which has helped me gain in depth knowledge of how a good web site should be both designed & managed, this of course follows on that the marketing of their products & services can reach their full potential.

During the time I was on the council I had been lead member for IT & led the North Lincolnshire Council into the present by instigating many changes & updating the whole of the IT system for the council. I was also the chief whip, chair & vice chair of the scrutiny committees & have been the lead member for scrutiny at a regional level. I was vice chair on the planning committee & was on the appeals & licensing committees.

One of my best achievements was to attain the vice chair of the Humber Bridge Board, something no other councillor from the south bank had ever achieved! During this time on the Bridge Board I was involved directly with moving the board into the 21st century.
